Resumen

Este artículo tuvo como objetivo llevar a cabo una revisión sistemática de la producción académica y los estándares en la literatura sobre sistemas productivos de cría de ovinos financieramente rentable y con prácticas de sostenibilidad económica, social y ambiental en los biomas en que se desarrollan. Se utilizó la técnica de estructuración en la población, el resultado y el tipo de estudio para definir la pregunta, seguida de búsqueda, extracción y selección de artículos a través del análisis emparejado. Hubo una evolución temática en los enfoques en cuatro períodos analizados. Se identificaron publicaciones relevantes en citas de cría de ovinos sostenible, con énfasis en Europa, Australia y Brasil. No se seleccionó ningún estudio que describiera la cría de ovinos sostenible en el bioma Pantanal. Actualmente, el enfoque de la producción permanece en la rentabilidad; sin embargo, los impactos ecológicos y sociales ganan prominencia, y las creaciones con razas locales y amenazadas con extinción surgen como una posibilidad para el desarrollo de una cadena de producción sostenible que fortalece la economía local.
