The territorial dynamics of local development in different contexts

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the role of the media, tourist territory, and community gardens in local development, in order to list positive factors arising from such practices, as well as specify those who need attention. In addition to its historical value, it had a qualitative approach, with exploratory specificity; descriptive bibliographic research was used to offer readers theoretical conceptions about the concepts, as well as empirical works of observation and experience. The results showed that the media contributes to the transmission of knowledge, information on habits, and traditions, as well as to the socialization of local knowledge, promoting synergy in relationships, dissemination of ideas, and conscious interpersonal communication. Regarding the tourist territory, it was demonstrated the strengthening of the sense of belonging, improvement in the preservation of the environment, and the awakening of interests and knowledge about cultural and natural heritage. As for community gardens, the results showed the involvement of communities and, consequently, local progress. It is concluded that this research contributed to the dissemination of knowledge and made it possible to reveal research results that could expose the difficulties and challenges that need to be reflected and worked on by researchers, local development agents, and others interested in this theme, at national and international levels.
